Back in August it was announced that the award winning singer, Lizzo, signed a deal with Amazon and now it seems her first project is on its way. You may remember Lizzo's struggle to find plus size dancers for her performances so, according to a casting call shared by Variety, she's taking things into her own hands with a yet-to-be-titled dancer competition series for the streaming platform. According to Deadline, the comedian is starring in Senior year, which "follows a cheerleader who wakes up after a 20-year coma and returns to high school to try to regain her status and claim the prom queen crown that eluded her."
THR states that Wilson will also be a producer on the film, sharing "producer credits with Todd Garner and Chris Bender. The executive producer credits on Senior Year are shared by Jeremy Stein, Jake Wagner and Jake Weiner." ![]() As previously announced, Hulu's Shrill, starring SNL's Aidy Bryant, is concluding with a third season to air later this year. During the Hulu TCA presentation it was revealed that the third and final season is closer than we thought. Check it out yourself! ![]() Hulu has announced that the third season of the hit comedy, Shrill, starring Aidy Bryant, will be also the last. Production has wrapped on the 8 episode season, which is set to hit the streamer this Spring. According to Deadline, Shrill was developed by Bryant, showrunner Alexandra Rushfield and Lindy West and inspired by West’s book Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman. After finding success in Australia, ABC has ordered an American version of the doggy groomer competition series, Pooch Perfect, hosted by Rebel Wilson. Wilson was the original host for the series, which premiered in February 2020. According to Deadline, Wilson "will be joined by Lisa Vanderpump, celebrity dog groomer Jorge Bendersky and veterinarian Dr. Callie Harris as the trio of judges."
Deadline states: The eight-episode series will showcase ten of the best dog groomers in the country, along with their assistants, competing in a series of challenges. Each week, teams will compete in two challenges: the Immunity Puppertunity challenge and the Ultimutt Challenge showdown. The teams will face off in the grooming challenges, showcasing their creations on the ‘dogwalk’. There will be one elimination each week until the season finale, where the top three teams will compete for a giant cash prize and the Pooch Perfect trophy.
