Joy Nash to star in Dietland on AMC

Joy Nash - best known for her Fat Rants on YouTube, and recently seen on The Mindy Project and Twin Peaks - has been cast as the lead in AMC's "part character drama and part revenge fantasy" series Dietland, as noted by Deadline.

According to the Deadline article, Nash will play "Plum Kettle, who has been obese all her life and preparing for lap band surgery when her world is upturned by two rival feminist factions. Caught between old ideas and radical new extremes, Plum must decide for herself what it means to be a revolutionary as the “war of the sexes” becomes literal." 

Dietland comes from UnREAL's Marti Noxon and will "explore society’s obsession with weight loss and beauty in a bold, original and funny way." Noxon is executive producer, writer and showrunner, and will direct multiple episodes of Dietland.
