'Isn't It Romantic'

There have been plenty of progressive steps taken in the plus size world, especially with visibility on screen: Chrissy Metz makes us cry each week on This Is Us, Ashley Graham goes from runways to appearing as a judge on ANTM and Beauty Star, Danielle McDonald reintroduced us to Dolly Parton in Netflix's Dumpling, and Ashley Nell Tipton is  even streaming sewing tips on Twitch. 

But another big step has been taken. Rebel Wilson is starring in Isn't It Romantic - not the first rom-com with a plus size leading lady, but still an achievement. Not only is she starring in a rom-com and being wooed by a Hemsworth, but it feels like the first time where the message of the movie comes out clear: Love Yourself above all else. 

Like Amy Schumer's I Feel Pretty, Isn't it Romantic falls into the trope of the girl getting the hot guy only to realize it's the less attractive guy she wants to be with. But baby steps, right?
